Emblica officinalis (Fruit)

Premium Amla extract standardized for tannin content
Amla Extract, derived from the fruit of Emblica officinalis, is a powerful herbal ingredient known for its rich tannin content and potent antioxidant properties. Standardized by titration to contain either 20% or 40% tannins, our extract is available in powder and granule forms to support versatile formulation needs. The extraction process uses ethanol grade USP solvents, ensuring purity and safety. This ingredient is commonly used in nutraceuticals, functional foods, cosmeceuticals, and personal care products for its rejuvenating and immune-boosting properties.
Amla extract has been studied for its potent antioxidant properties, with research showing it contains one of the highest concentrations of vitamin C and polyphenols among natural sources. Studies indicate potential benefits for immune function, skin health, and digestive wellness.
Our Amla Extract production follows a rigorous process that begins with carefully selected raw materials. The fruits are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for extraction using our proprietary methods that preserve the natural bioactive compounds. Our state-of-the-art extraction facility employs advanced technology to ensure consistent potency and purity in every batch. The extract undergoes multiple filtration steps before being carefully dried and standardized to precise tannin concentrations.

When sourcing this product, we recommend the following considerations:
The percentage refers to the concentration of tannins in the extract. The 40% standardization provides a higher concentration of active compounds, which may be preferred for applications requiring more potent antioxidant activity. The 20% standardization is often used in formulations where a milder effect is desired or when cost considerations are important.
Our Amla extract is water-dispersible, meaning it can be incorporated into water-based formulations. For complete solubility in water, we recommend our specialized water-soluble version which is treated with natural solubilizers to enhance dissolution in aqueous systems.
The recommended dosage varies depending on the application. For dietary supplements, typical dosages range from 250mg to 1000mg per day of the 20% extract. For cosmetic applications, concentrations typically range from 0.1% to 1% in the final formulation. We recommend consulting with a formulation specialist for your specific application.
While fresh Amla fruit is known for its high vitamin C content, our extraction process focuses on concentrating the tannins and polyphenols. The extract does contain some naturally occurring vitamin C, but it is not standardized for vitamin C content. The antioxidant activity comes primarily from the tannins and other polyphenolic compounds.
When stored properly in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, our Amla extract has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture. We recommend checking the Certificate of Analysis for the specific batch for exact expiration information.
